About underwater artist Olga Belka

Olga Belka is a unique underwater artist who creates her paintings entirely on the seabed, working directly from life while diving. She is recognized by the media as the world’s only underwater portraitist. Olga was the first artist to develop a stable technique for painting in salt water, capturing the authentic colors, light, and fragile beauty of the underwater world. This method is eco-safe, lab-tested, and scientifically approved.

Art has been her lifelong profession, while diving became part of her life later. When the sea became her primary inspiration, her work took on a new immersive direction. Her art ranges from marine life and coral landscapes to underwater portraits, which represent a new chapter in figurative art. Each painting requires 2 to 6 dives, with every dive lasting up to 3 hours.

Olga’s mission is to inspire ocean conservation through art. She integrates sustainability into her practice by using recycled materials in the framing and presentation of her works and dedicates a part of her income to coral reef cleanup.
