canvas, underwater painting
40*50
2017
When I was choosing the next scene, I liked the picturesque coral wall. I started working on the painting. Then a piece of dead coral, from which new living branches have “sprouted”, made me think of the eternal and ephemeral. This association did not let me rest until I decided to change the plot. So, the dead coral kindly agreed to pose for me like a skull. A pirate dagger and coins were plastic props. Thus, this work can be considered as the only staged still-life painting in my Egyptian collection.
P.S. Underwater artist Olga Belka appreciates the Diving Center «Anthias Divers» in Sharm El Sheikh for all the help and support in creating this painting.
