Nemo’s smile

Nemo’s smile
canvas, underwater painting

20×20

Nemo fish have a small mouth with corners pointing down and round eyes – everything like much other fish. Due to their special coloring, they constantly reminded me of emoticons from any messenger standard set. Depending on the angle, the expression of their cute face is constantly changing. It represents the entire range of moods.

My regular models, the striped butterflyfish, became jealous while I was working on “Nemo’s Smile”. They constantly flashed before my eyes, covering the canvas. By all available means they “gently” reminded me about themselves. But the most unexpected moment was the inspection by the sand moray eel. It came from somewhere under the coral, checked all the paints and the painting, and began to examine the artist. I had to ward it off in a gentle manner.

P.S. Underwater artist Olga Belka thanks the Anantara group and especially the Anantara Dhugu resort in the Maldives for hospitality, full assistance, and support, as well as the Aquafanatics dive center for safety and the best diving conditions when creating this underwater artwork.
